Day 2 of 3DAYFasting

If you’d like to start reading from the beginning, please check out the earlier posts.

Today is your fasting day, so we’ll be diving into the actual process of fasting.

Managing Hunger

If you’re worried about not being able to handle hunger, having an enzyme drink on hand can be a lifesaver. Whenever you feel hungry, drink it either straight or diluted with water.

At our salon in Fukuoka, we provide professional-grade enzyme drinks. If you’re purchasing one yourself, be sure to carefully check the label.

Here’s what to look for:

・The ingredient list should have “enzyme liquid” as the first item.

・The drink should contain a wide variety of fruits and vegetables (the one we use at the salon contains 113 types—more variety leads to better-quality enzymes).

・Ensure it hasn’t been heat-treated, as enzymes are sensitive to heat and lose their effectiveness when heated.

Stay Hydrated

Make sure to drink plenty of warm water throughout the day.

Mindfulness and Relaxation

Since fasting originated as a religious practice, incorporating mindfulness activities like meditation or yoga stretches is highly recommended. Use the time you’d typically spend on meals to focus on your physical and mental well-being.

Why My Recipes Focus on Enzyme-Supporting Ingredients

You may have already noticed, but the recipes I regularly share are centred around enzyme-supporting, plant-based ingredients.

Through fasting, many of your questions may naturally be answered:

What’s so great about plant-based foods?

Why are GI values so important?

What’s Omega-3, and why does it matter?

Fasting not only helps cleanse your body but also allows you to turn these ideas into practical knowledge through personal experience.

Even outside of your fasting period, I aim to provide information that helps you maintain a healthy and easy plant-based diet. Keep following along for more tips!

Easy-to-Find Plant-Based Ingredients

Here are some plant-based ingredients you can easily find at local stores:

At Aeon Supermarkets

Sprouted brown rice pasta

Arrabbiata pasta sauce

Dried soybean flakes

Various types of beans from the Solleone brand

"Watashi no Oishii Vegan Soft" (dairy-free margarine)

At Gyomu Super (Wholesale Supermarket)

Where I Shop

I usually shop at Aeon supermarkets, Gyomu Super, and local greengrocers.
